Prof. Dr. Cemal Asım Kutlu, FETCS, is a thoracic surgeon at İSÜ Liv Hospital Bahçeşehir, Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1985 and trained at Yedikule Thoracic Surgery Centre (1987-1991), with a 1990 visiting attachment at the Mayo Clinic Heart-Lung Transplantation section. He spent two periods at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London — as overseas research fellow (1996-1997) and Specialist Registrar (2000-2001, GMC No. 5184328). He earned his FETCS in 1999. He served as Clinic Chief and Lung Transplant Program Director at Süreyyapaşa (2005-2011), Education Officer and Lung Transplant Program Director at Kartal-Koşuyolu (2012-2015), and Head of Thoracic Surgery at Yeniyüzyıl University GOP Hospital from 2016. His clinical focus covers lung transplantation, complex lung resections, VATS and robotic thoracic surgery, tracheal and esophageal surgery and emphysema surgery.
