Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: 5 May 2026.

This document explains who we are — and who we are not — in medical terms. Read it before relying on any information on this site.

1. Who we are and who we are NOT

BergemHealth is a medical concierge. We organise the interaction between the patient and a JCI hospital in Türkiye: we select the professor, translate the documents, accompany you at the appointment.

We are not a clinic, not a doctor, not an insurer.

We do not provide medical services, do not make diagnoses, do not prescribe treatment, do not write prescriptions, do not perform procedures. BergemHealth holds no medical licence — none is required for our activity.

All medical decisions are made only by licensed doctors of JCI hospitals in Türkiye, in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.

2. Information on the website

The texts on the site — about specialities, treatment methods, prices, clinics, professors — are informational in nature. This is an overview of what a clinic treats and which methods it uses, not medical advice and not a recommendation of a specific treatment.

We try to be accurate — materials are prepared by medical experts and facts are verified with the clinics. But medicine moves quickly, protocols are updated and every patient is unique. Information on the site does not replace an in-person doctor visit.

3. “Second opinion in 48 hours” — what it actually is

“Second opinion in 48 hours” is a written medical conclusion from a JCI-hospital professor, issued on the basis of the medical documents you provide (discharge summaries, scans, lab results).

This is a medical service, and it is provided by the clinic, not BergemHealth. We organise the process: hand over the documents, monitor the deadline, translate the conclusion.

The conclusion is the expert opinion of one specific professor. It does not replace an in-person examination, additional investigations and the final treatment plan, which is drawn up in the clinic after a face-to-face meeting with the patient.

4. Do not self-treat

Do not make treatment decisions based on the website without an in-person doctor consultation.

This applies to everything:

  • starting or stopping medication;
  • changing dosages;
  • abandoning a prescribed treatment in favour of something described on the site;
  • buying medicines without a prescription based on our articles.

If you read our article about a treatment method and think “I should try it” — discuss it with your treating doctor. We write for patients and their families so that you better understand what Turkish medicine offers and what questions to ask. Not so that you treat yourself off the internet.

5. Prices are indicative

All prices on the site — whether for surgery, a treatment course, an investigation or a package — are indicative.

The final cost is determined only after an in-person consultation at the clinic and the drafting of an individual treatment plan. It may differ from the indicative figure in either direction, depending on:

  • stage of the disease and concomitant diagnoses;
  • chosen treatment method;
  • need for additional investigations;
  • length of hospital stay;
  • exchange rate and other factors.

You receive the exact cost in the clinic’s written estimate before treatment starts. Until then, all numbers are preliminary.

6. In emergencies — call 112, not us

BergemHealth does not provide emergency medical care.

If you or a loved one have a life-threatening condition — sudden chest pain, loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms, severe trauma — call emergency services immediately:

  • In Türkiye: 112
  • In most EU countries: 112
  • In Ukraine: 103 or 112
  • In Kazakhstan: 103 or 112

Do not write to us on WhatsApp hoping for a fast response — we are not a rescue service. Help first, medical tourism after, if appropriate.

7. Third-party resources

The site contains links to external resources — research publications, clinical guidelines, materials of the Turkish Ministry of Health, hospital and professional association websites.

We link to them for convenience and to back up facts. We do not control the content of those sites. We are not responsible for their currency, accuracy, data-handling policy or any consequences of using their materials.

8. Patient testimonials and stories

We publish cases and reviews of real patients on the site — with their written consent or in anonymised form without personal data and recognisable details.

These stories show how treatment in Türkiye is delivered and what outcomes occur. They do not guarantee a similar outcome for another patient.

Each case is unique. A patient with the same diagnosis may have a different stage, different comorbidities or a different reaction to therapy. Do not compare your potential outcome with someone else’s — discuss the prognosis with the doctor who examines you.

9. Clinic brands and trademarks

On the site we mention partner clinics: Liv Hospital (İSÜ Bahçeşehir, Ulus, Vadistanbul), Memorial (Antalya, Bahçelievler), Akdeniz University Hospital.

This means we have agreements with the professors of these clinics and arrange consultations and treatment for patients there.

All names, logos and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. We use them for informational purposes to identify partners. Use on the site does not imply advertising or endorsement by the rights-holders beyond our partnership relationship.
