Gastroenterologist and hepatologist. He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 1985, completed internal medicine training at Ankara University (1991) and a gastroenterology fellowship at Türkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hospital, Ankara (1994). He was on the İnönü University faculty in Malatya from 1997 to 2004 and at Akdeniz University in Antalya from 2004 to 2026, where he led the gastroenterology and hepatology division. His clinical and research work covers liver and digestive system disease, including inflammatory bowel disease.
