Prof. Dr. Fatih Demirkan is a Professor of Hematology at Memorial Antalya Hospital, where he has practised since 2024 after a 26-year academic career at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in İzmir. He trained in internal medicine at Hacettepe University and completed his hematology fellowship at Dokuz Eylül, with a visiting year at Washington University in St. Louis. His clinical and research focus is chronic lymphocytic leukemia, mantle cell lymphoma and apheresis medicine. He served as President of the Turkish Apheresis Association (2014-2018) and Vice-President of the World Apheresis Association (2016-2018), and is on the editorial board of Transfusion and Apheresis Science.
