Prof. Dr. Songül Büyükkale is a thoracic surgeon and lung transplantation specialist at Liv Hospital Ulus and Vadistanbul, Istanbul. She graduated from Marmara University in 1996 and trained in thoracic surgery at Yedikule Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital, where she later co-led the Lung Transplant Center and observed Ex-Vivo Lung Perfusion at Lund University, Sweden. She joined Memorial Şişli in 2015 and became associate professor in 2018. Her clinical and research focus covers lung cancer surgery, mediastinal staging, lung transplantation, and EVLP. She holds international memberships including ATS, ESTS, IASLC, ERS, and ISHLT.
