Prof. Dr. A. Hakan Birkent is an ENT surgeon and laryngologist at Liv Hospital Vadistanbul and Professor at Fenerbahçe University. A 1996 graduate of Gülhane Military Medical Academy, he completed a fellowship in voice, swallowing and airway disorders at the University of Washington in Seattle (2007-2008). He is recognised for developing the Tensioning Glottoplasty technique for voice feminization and is a founding member of the International Association of TransVoice Surgeons. His clinical work spans voice disorders, head and neck oncology, airway stenosis, rhinoplasty and pediatric ENT.
