Dr. Aşkın Güra Bayık is a Specialist in Child Health and Diseases with a subspecialty in Neonatology at Memorial Antalya Hospital. She graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, in 1990, then completed her pediatric residency at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in Antalya between 1992 and 1997. She earned her Neonatology subspecialty (yan dal) at the same institution between 1998 and 2001. She served as a faculty specialist in the Neonatology Division of Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine from 2002 to 2005, then practised at Antalya Özel Anadolu Hospital from 2005 to 2010 before joining Memorial Antalya Hospital in 2010, where she has continued to lead neonatal intensive care work for more than a decade. Her clinical focus covers care of premature and very-low-birth-weight infants, neonatal respiratory distress and ventilation, neonatal sepsis and jaundice, kangaroo (skin-to-skin) care programmes for premature babies, follow-up of recurrent infections and developmental delay, and general pediatric outpatient management of upper- and lower-respiratory and throat infections in older children. She has published 16 domestic and international journal articles and presented at over 35 national and international scientific meetings.
