Professor Koray Acarlı is one of the leading hepatobiliary surgeons and transplant surgeons in Türkiye, with more than 40 years of experience. Since 7 January 2025 he has worked at Liv Hospital Ulus — previously, from 2012 to 31 December 2024, he led the Organ Transplantation Centre at Memorial Şişli, where he performed more than 1,000 liver transplants (including ~280 paediatric). Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul University in 1981, completed a fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center (New York, 1991–1992) and a visiting consultancy at the University of Hamburg (1995). Fluent in German thanks to his education at St. George Austrian High School in Istanbul.
