Mustafa Sakar is a neurosurgeon at Memorial Göztepe Hospital, where he has worked since 2025. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (1997–2003) and completed his neurosurgery residency at the same university, qualifying as a specialist in 2010. He joined Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2013, became an assistant professor in 2017 and an associate professor in 2023, working successively on spinal surgery, paediatric neurosurgery and, most recently, adult brain tumours and cerebrovascular disease. He has undertaken further training in fetal spina bifida surgery at HCor Hospital in São Paulo and in skull-base tumour surgery at Tübingen University. He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, EANS and ISPN.
