Prof. Dr. Ata Nevzat Yalçın is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, Antalya, where he also serves as a consultant in the Infectious Diseases Department, the intensive care units, and the Solid Organ Transplant Unit. His clinical and academic work focuses on hospital-acquired (nosocomial) infections, antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacoeconomics, multidrug-resistant Gram-negative pathogens (including carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella and Acinetobacter), diabetic foot infections, necrotising soft-tissue infections, prosthetic joint infections, and infection management in solid organ transplant and ICU patients. Prof. Yalçın has been principal investigator or site investigator on international phase III trials including ceftazidime-avibactam programmes for complicated intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, and ventilator-associated pneumonia, and influenza vaccine and C. difficile studies. He has authored over 115 publications indexed in international databases, with more than 779 citations (Scopus) and an h-index of 15 (Scopus) / 13 (Web of Science). He serves on the editorial board of the Klimik Journal and has contributed to International Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy consensus reviews.
