Elif Göknur Topçu is an obstetrician and gynaecologist working in IVF and reproductive medicine. She graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Health Sciences Istanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital, finishing in 2020. She also holds a doctorate in histology and embryology and the American RDMS certification in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound, obtained in 2019. She received the associate professor title in 2024 and joined Liv Hospital Ulus in 2026, after posts at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital and Şişli Kolan Hospital. She is Associate Editor for Europe of the International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, sits on the FIGO Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Committee and on EBCOG standing committees, and served as president of the World Association of Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2021 to 2023. Her clinical work covers infertility and IVF treatment, ovulation monitoring, endometriosis, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, pregnancy follow-up and delivery, adolescent gynaecology and menopause. Her published research includes studies on uterocervical angle and labour induction, postpartum haemorrhage management, and the effect of the COVID-19 outbreak and the European Working Time Directive on obstetrics and gynaecology training in Europe.
