Serap Yavuzer was born in Sakarya in 1978 and graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, in 2002. She completed her internal medicine residency at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine (2003–2009) and remained there in academic posts, receiving the Turkish associate professor title in 2017 and the professorship in 2022. She was subsequently at Biruni University Hospital and at Florya Medical Park Hospital, and heads the Department of Internal Medicine at İstanbul Aydın University Faculty of Medicine. She joined Memorial Göztepe Hospital in 2025. Her research covers oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation in ageing and hypertension, circulating microRNAs in subclinical atherosclerosis and white-coat hypertension, and clinical studies in COVID-19; she is a member of the Academic Geriatrics Society.
