Hülya Dirol is an associate professor of chest diseases at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, where she has been on the academic staff since 2014. She teaches COPD and cor pulmonale, pulmonary function testing and blood gas interpretation, diffuse parenchymal lung disease, bronchial asthma and thoracic emergencies. Her recent published work covers asthma control and phenotypes within the Turkish Adult Asthma Registry, the distribution and clinical importance of MUC5B and TERT variants in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary function change after stereotactic body radiotherapy for lung oligometastases. She supervised a 2023 resident thesis on survival factors in idiopathic interstitial pneumonia.
