Should I choose All-on-4 or All-on-6 for a full-arch implant solution?
All-on-4 uses 4 implants with the posterior pair tilted 30-45° to avoid the sinus/nerve, ideal for moderate bone loss and immediate same-day loading. All-on-6 adds two implants for improved force distribution, recommended for heavier bite forces, bruxism or larger arches. Partner dental departments use 3D CBCT-guided planning, choosing the protocol based on bone volume, density and prosthetic plan.
Can I get an immediate implant after tooth extraction?
Immediate implant placement is possible when the extraction socket is intact, infection is absent, and bone volume allows ≥35 Ncm primary stability. Ideal indications: single anterior teeth, fractured roots without periapical lesions. Contraindications: active periodontitis, large bone defects. Where the case allows, immediate placement can be combined with bone grafting and a provisional crown, which can shorten treatment by several months.
Which veneer material is best — porcelain, zirconia or composite?
Porcelain (lithium disilicate / e.max) gives the most natural translucency and is ideal for anterior aesthetic cases, with 95% survival at 10 years. Monolithic zirconia is stronger and preferred for bruxism or posterior teeth but less translucent. Composite veneers are cheapest, reversible and same-day but wear faster (4-5 year lifespan). Partner dentists often recommend e.max for smile makeovers, based on digital smile design.
How long does Invisalign treatment usually take?
Average Invisalign treatment ranges 6-18 months, with mild cases (crowding ≤6 mm) completing in 6-9 months and complex cases (extractions, surgical-orthodontic combinations) requiring 18-24 months. Aligners are changed every 1-2 weeks and worn 20-22 hours/day. Invisalign providers use digital intra-oral scanning and ClinCheck to forecast tooth movement and plan attachments and IPR precisely from the start.
What's the timeline from implant placement to final crown?
Standard two-stage protocol takes 3-4 months in the mandible and 4-6 months in the maxilla for osseointegration before final crown placement. Immediate loading (same-day temporary crown) is possible for selected anterior cases with primary stability ≥35 Ncm. International patients are typically scheduled for 5-7 days at stage 1 (implant + temporary), then a return visit for the final zirconia or porcelain-fused crown.
When is bone grafting necessary before implants?
Bone grafting is required when the residual ridge height/width is insufficient for a 3.5-4.5 mm wide, ≥8 mm long implant. Common scenarios: long-standing tooth loss, posterior maxilla with low sinus floor (needs sinus lift), or severe periodontitis. Materials include autograft, allograft, xenograft (Bio-Oss) or synthetic substitutes with PRF/PRGF. Memorial uses CBCT to plan; minor augmentations heal in 4-6 months, major grafts in 6-9 months.
Are lingual braces hard to keep clean?
Lingual braces (Incognito, WIN) attach to the inside of teeth — invisible but harder to clean. Standard care requires interdental brushes, a Waterpik and an electric toothbrush with single-tuft heads, plus 3-monthly hygiene visits. Initial speech adaptation takes 2-3 weeks. With proper hygiene, decalcification risk is comparable to labial braces. Progress is monitored at regular check-ups.
